Why this pack works
The Ocean Ecosystem Pack is built around layers — surface, sunlit zone, twilight zone, and deep sea — so students can see how different body shapes and behaviors fit each part of the water column. We've also pulled in the foundational species that make ocean ecosystems work: corals, kelp, sea grass, and the small invertebrates that anchor the food web.
Great for marine biology units, World Ocean Day (June 8), and any classroom doing a unit on the water cycle, climate, or biodiversity. Pair the pages with a few short clips of underwater footage and the species become instantly memorable.
Print the entire pack at once, then hand out 1–2 pages per student depending on the unit length. Each species in the pack has its own page on this site with a fun fact, the scientific name, and ecosystem and grade-band tags so you can swap individual species in or out as your unit evolves.
