Why this pack works

Tropical rainforests are organized in layers: emergent, canopy, understory, and forest floor. The Rainforest Canopy Pack focuses on the upper layers, where most of the iconic rainforest species live. Macaws nest in the emergent giants, howler monkeys roar from the canopy, and sloths spend their entire lives in the same few trees.

Use this pack for rainforest biome units, conservation discussions, and as the visual side of a writing project on biodiversity hotspots.

Print the entire pack at once, then hand out 1โ€“2 pages per student depending on the unit length. Each species in the pack has its own page on this site with a fun fact, the scientific name, and ecosystem and grade-band tags so you can swap individual species in or out as your unit evolves.
